If you need support, applications are open.
No matter what, you deserve access to tools that help you understand your story and rebuild your life, without shame, pressure, or re-traumatization.
The Healing by the Numbers Scholarship Fund exists to make that possible.
This program is funded by community contributions, allowing you to receive the support you need regardless of your current circumstances.
What Support Can Cover
The scholarship fund can provide support at several different levels. There is no "right" place to start, only what feels most helpful and manageable for you right now.
Level 1: Private, Self-Paced Support
Workbooks
If you prefer to learn and reflect on your own, scholarships can cover either of the following workbooks:
Was That Abuse...?
Learn how to recognize emotional abuse, coercive control, manipulation, and other unhealthy relationship patterns.
How to Trust Yourself Again
Explore healing, boundaries, self-trust, identity, and rebuilding life after abuse.
Build Your Escape Plan (Coming Soon)
A practical workbook designed to help you think through the process of leaving an abusive relationship as safely as possible.Â
These resources are completely private and can be completed at your own pace.
Level 2: Deeper Education & Guided Healing
Courses
If you'd like more structure, education, and guided exercises, scholarships can cover either of the following courses:
Was That Abuse...?
A deeper dive into abuse dynamics, self-doubt, confusion, trauma bonds, and understanding what happened.
How to Trust Yourself Again
Focused on rebuilding confidence, creating healthy boundaries, reconnecting with yourself, and moving forward after survival mode.
Build Your Escape Plan (Coming Soon)
A step-by-step course designed to help survivors safely prepare for leaving an abusive relationship. While every abusive relationship is different, this course is designed to help you think through your options and create a plan that fits your situation.
Courses are self-paced and can be completed on your own schedule.
Level 3: Personalized Feedback
Personalized Asynchronous Video Support from Dr. RuthÂ
(Only available for "Was That Abuse...?" at this time)
After completing your workbook, Dr. Ruth will personally review your responses and record a private video discussing:
âś” Patterns that stand out in your story
âś” Strengths and survival strategies reflected in your responses
âś” Suggestions for where to focus next
This option is ideal for survivors who want personalized insight but are not ready for a live conversation.
Level 4: Personalized Feedback + Live SupportÂ
Personalized Video + 1:1 Call with Dr. RuthÂ
(Only available for "Was That Abuse...?" at this time)
This includes everything in levels 1-3, plus a private video call with Dr. Ruth.
During the call, you'll have the opportunity to:
âś” Ask questions about your workbook and experiences
âś” Explore next steps in your healing journey
âś” Receive individualized support and guidance
This is the highest level of support currently available through the scholarship fund.

Not Sure What You Need? That's okay!
Many survivors apply without knowing exactly which program or level of support would be the best fit. Here are a few general guidelines:
Choose "Was That Abuse...?" if...
- You're still wondering whether what happened was abuse.
- You keep asking yourself, "Was it really that bad?"
- You want help recognizing and understanding abusive behaviors.
Choose "How to Trust Yourself Again" if...
- You already know the relationship was abusive.
- You're trying to rebuild your confidence, identity, and self-trust after leaving.
- You're focused more on healing than identifying the abuse itself.
Not sure which level to choose?
For either program, Level 1 (Private, Self-Paced) is a great place to start. You can always apply for additional support later if you feel it would be helpful.
A quick note about timing
Because scholarships are funded by our community, we ask recipients to begin using their awarded resources within three months of receiving them. This helps us be good stewards of limited scholarship funds and make support available to as many survivors as possible. If now isn't the right time, that's completely okay. You're always welcome to apply when you're ready.
Remember!!
You do not need to share trauma details in your applicaiton!
You do not need to defend your choices!
You do not need to prove anything!
This form is simply here to help me understand what you’re hoping for and how I can best support you. Everything you write is confidential. Applications are reviewed weekly and as funds become available.
